Yesterday I got to visit Ste. Chapelle Winery, a place that I’ve actually visited before as a little girl with my parents. A good girlfriend of mine invited me to go with her on a spur of the moment wine tasting adventure and I was quick to say yes!
This little gem sits about 45 minutes outside of Boise in the beautiful Snake River Valley. I remember we’d stop here on the way home from our summer home in Garden Valley, ID. It was my mother’s “candy shop”.
And now, as an adult I can completely see why! This visit was such a spur of the moment idea that I didn’t have enough time to find a babysitter so I brought Bridget along. Luckily she’s a pretty easy baby, so Mom got to relax and Bridget highly enjoyed all the attention she got from the gals at the wine bar. It was definitely a great mid week get away.
We started by choosing 5 different wines to taste test. I have always been hesitant to try a malbec and syrah. In my mind I’d always assumed they were very dry and bitter but it was such a surprise taste. Definitely will be seeking these out in the wine aisle more frequently.

I absolutely think I will be needing to do more of these wine tastings, especially when it begins to warm up and we can tour the vineyards!
What do you ladies like to do to “wine” down. Let me know in the comments!
